"Out of all the people in the world, I know we are cared for."

Meet Kelly, she is an active member in our Grace For Moms ministries and this is her story.

I've been a full- time single mom for many years with no help from their father. I work at Amazon full time but in October of 2021, my two and I children all came down with Covid 19 together. I went online to look up agencies that might be able to help us with our rent and food as I would be missing a month of work, but I got nowhere fast online. I prayed to God and Jesus to help me. I soon got a call from Jim from the Christian Help Center. He encouraged me everything was going to be okay. I didn't think it could be true. How could someone I've never met have the faith to help us? Sure enough, that week Rachel had food ready for us and Jim had more to help us with than we could ever have imagined. They gave me Hope. God was really listening to my prayers.

I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry.

Psalm 40

After that month, they invited us to their Grace for Moms Ministry. I am a little shy, so I was reluctant to go. I decided to take the kids and participated in a pumpkin painting party with pizza and had fun. I met other moms and their children. Rachel has such a calming spirit and is very welcoming.

Jim kept letting us know they were there to help throughout the months. As Christmas approached God blessed us beyond measure. I really wanted my kids to be able to play soccer. It can be expensive and getting them to games can be hard on my own. The CHC decided to sponsor the kids this spring. They are now able to play on the same team, every week for a few months. I know that God really cares about my kids and out of all the people in the world, I know we are cared for.

Who am I, that you are mindful of me?

Psalm 8:3-4

As I finish writing this, I am in recovery from Major surgery. Once again, the CHC and God's Grace has blessed us and made sure we were taken care of. This has been a very humbling and thankful 7 months being a part of the CHC family with Jim and Rachel. The kids have more confidence and are thriving. I now know 100% God is alive, active and that he cares for and loves us. We now attend Sunday church services at the Christian Help Center. We strive every day to stay strong and couldn't be more thankful for Jesus and the CHC.

Love, Kelly
