A woman who we will call "H" and I sat down for a Q & A about her experience at The Christian Help Center. We met her about a year ago and her progress is truly amazing.

Q: How did you first hear about The Christian Help Center?

A: I was on Google searching for any kind of help I could get and making phone calls to places I found in my area. Someone from the CHC called me back and honestly at first, I thought the person I spoke with hard to read and intimating. I later learned it was Jim and he was just asking questions to see how he could really just help me best. He set up a time and date for me to come in and have a sit down meeting with him and I was almost too scared and intimidated to go, but I did and its one of the best things I have ever done for my life.

Q: What was your greatest need at the time of calling?

A: I needed reliable transportation, a steady job and a home for my son and I. We were currently staying with my sister for about a year after I completed the CASC program. I was fortunate to be able to drive my dads old truck and worked a seasonal job.

Q: What positive or helpful things have come from taking a leap of faith and stepping foot into the CHC?

A: One of the most important things that I have gained is a positive support system. I've gained a relationship with God and I make an effort to come to Tuesday services each week. With the help of the CHC I now have a van that is safe for my son and I to get around in and also an apartment of my very own.

Q: What events have you attended hosted by the CHC? Which had the biggest impact?

A: I've attended the Grace Turkey Blessing, volunteered at the Christmas event and am currently helping the set up for the Back to School fest. I also recently started attending the bi-monthly Grace For Moms events which I think has the biggest impact because its a time to be with other supportive moms.

Q: What would you tell someone about the center who you feel could benefit from attending?

A: I tell people about the center all the time. It has become such a huge part of my life. My life now looks completely different yet I have only been involved with the center for less then a year. The CHC and all people involved have truly made such a difference in my life. There is so much help that is offered here, all you have to do is ask.
